It Continues
So now we have the driveline done and it is primered. But will it run? Well we put a battery on it and after alot of tuning it ran. Not good but it ran. I ended up putting in a new altenator, new spark plugs, and a carb rebuild kit. The carb rebuild kit is when I knew I had more problems. The 79 and 80 j-10's had 2 barrel carbs mine had a 1 barrel. So I ran the numbers on the block and found out that it was a 1977 model engine. I got the carb rebuilt and to quit leaking finally. On Labor Day 2006 it was D-Day the Shakedown Run. Me and a group from www.4x4grace.com took it to Horse Creek State Park in Greeneville Tn for this. We got there about 9:00 a.m had some fellowship while everyone locked there hubs and the like. Then we had a prayer led by Rob and set off up the mountain.

We had a pretty good trip and some great fellowship but Frankenjeep as it was nicknamed by Rob still had problems. It started backfiring through the carb and running really rich. Also it did not want to idle I came back off the mountain in nuetral so I could keep it running yet stop if I needed to.

This week I have put in a new timing Chain, new oilpan gasket, and front crank seal. Everything seems pretty good so far but going wheeling this weekend 9-16-06 so we will see what happens.
